About this game

A little roll. A new way home. Guide a terracotta stone across 24 floating gardens, stay flat on thin tiles, and open leaf bridges to reach the exit upright.

Original rolling-block puzzle inspired by the general gameplay of Bloxorz on CrazyGames. Code, garden layouts, artwork and synthesized sound by TapNest Play. Not affiliated with Damien Clarke, DX Interactive or CrazyGames.

How to play

Use arrow keys, WASD, on-screen arrows or swipe to roll the block. Both occupied squares need support when lying down. Reach the glowing exit standing upright to finish. Cracked amber tiles break under an upright block. Landing on the leaf switch opens the bridge for the rest of this attempt. Undo (U) restores the previous roll, including a fall; Hint (H) marks the next step on a shortest route from your current position. Pause with P or Escape, restart with R. There is no timer or life limit. Three stars require no hints and the perfect move count; two require at most two hints and perfect + 6 moves; every other finish earns one. Undo restores moves but keeps hint costs. Progress saves only in this browser.

Stand upright to come home

Moss Roll uses a 1×1×2 block. Upright, it stands on one square; lying down, it covers two. Rolling along its long axis makes it stand at the far end, while a sideways roll keeps it flat. Both squares need floor support. The exit supports a flat block, but you only finish when standing upright on it. Think about your orientation as well as your location.

Four chapters, one new perspective

The 24 original gardens unlock in order. Meadow steps teaches orientation and edges. Amber terraces adds cracked tiles that hold a flat block but break under an upright one. River bridges introduces a leaf switch that activates the dotted bridge. Cloud gardens combines the two. A switch responds to either orientation and stays active until you undo past its activation or restart. These boards do not contain split blocks, teleports or toggling switches.

Mistakes are a chance to turn back

Falling shows the reason and lets you undo the roll or restart. There is no countdown, life limit or move budget. Undo restores the prior position, bridge state and move count, keeping up to 2,000 previous rolls. It does not erase hints. A completed garden cannot be undone, but Replay starts it again. Reset and leaving an unfinished garden both ask before replacing your attempt.

Hints and stars

Each garden has a verified shortest solution; the displayed perfect number is its length. Hint finds a shortest route from your current position and highlights its first direction. Each successful use adds one hint, including repeated requests. If no path exists, no hint is charged. Three stars require no hints and at most the perfect move count. Two require at most two hints and perfect plus six moves. Any other finish earns one. Your best star rating is kept.

Local saves, at your own pace

The current garden, position, bridge, move count, hints, undo history, unlocked gardens, best stars and sound preference save in browser storage. Reloading restores a fall or a completed result as well. Choosing another garden replaces the current attempt; there is only one unfinished save. Clearing site data removes it. With storage unavailable, the open tab still works. There is no cloud sync or online leaderboard.

Questions about Moss Roll

Why did the stone fall on an amber tile?

Cracked amber tiles support the block only while it lies flat. Roll onto them sideways. If the stone stands upright there, use Undo to try another approach.

Does the bridge close when I leave the switch?

No. The leaf switch latches the bridge open for the current attempt. Undoing past the activation or restarting restores the closed bridge.

Is Moss Roll the original Bloxorz?

No. This is an independent TapNest Play rolling-block puzzle with 24 original boards and its own art, assistance rules and local saves. It does not embed Bloxorz or use its level data.
