About this game

Turn a mirror. Light the night. Guide a golden ray through 24 original rooms and make every lantern glow together. Discover fixed mirrors, free undo and a quieter kind of puzzle.

Original mirror-and-light puzzle inspired by the reflection mechanic described in Laser Ricochet on CrazyGames. Code, 24 room layouts, artwork and synthesized audio by TapNest Play. Not affiliated with Laser Ricochet or CrazyGames.

How to play

Click or tap a mirror to switch between / and backslash. Tab or arrow keys select a mirror; Enter or Space turns it. Light every numbered lantern at the same time. Lanterns let light through; stone blocks stop it. Pinned mirrors cannot turn. U undoes, H highlights one mirror on a shortest route, R restarts after confirmation, and P or Escape pauses. Each hint costs one assist. Three stars require no hints and the perfect turn count; two allow at most two hints and perfect + 4 turns; any other finish earns one. Undo keeps hint costs. There is no timer or loss limit. Best stars and one unfinished room save in this browser.

One arrangement, every lantern

The brass emitter sends a ray into the room. Each mirror turns it by 90 degrees. Click a movable mirror to change its diagonal angle. Numbered lanterns glow when the current ray crosses them and allow it to continue; they do not store light from earlier turns. Complete a room by lighting all lanterns simultaneously. Stone blocks stop the ray. Light can cross its own trail, and a repeated loop is safely stopped.

Twenty-four original rooms

Four chapters introduce longer routes on 6×6 and 7×7 grids. First light starts with two lanterns, Copper paths adds a third, and the final two chapters have four. From room 13, pinned mirrors marked by a brass dot reflect the beam but cannot turn. Not every mirror must be used. Rooms unlock in order and can be replayed after completion.

Hints, perfect turns and stars

Perfect is the fewest mirror turns needed from the starting arrangement, verified against every possible mirror setting. Hint highlights one differing mirror on a nearest winning arrangement from your current position, charging one hint each time. Three stars need no hints and at most Perfect turns. Two need at most two hints and Perfect plus four turns; all other completions earn one. Turning an unlit mirror still counts as a turn.

A forgiving route back

Undo restores the last arrangement and turn count, keeping up to 2,000 previous turns. It never removes hint charges. There is no timer, energy meter, life limit or move failure. Restart asks before replacing the attempt; completed rooms can be replayed. Pause hides the board and blocks mirror input. Arrow keys cycle through movable mirrors; Enter or Space activates the focused button.

Your lightkeeper notebook

The game saves best stars, sequential unlocks, sound preference, and one current room including its mirror arrangement, turns, hints and undo history in local browser storage. Selecting another room replaces an unfinished attempt after confirmation. Clearing site data removes progress, and private browsing may discard it later. The current tab can still play if storage is unavailable. There is no cloud sync, global leaderboard or wave-defense mode.

Questions about Lumen Relay

Why did a lantern go dark?

Lanterns must be lit at the same time. If you rotate a mirror and the ray no longer crosses a lantern, it goes dark. Follow the complete route from the emitter before changing the next mirror.

Why can I not rotate a mirror with a dot?

The small brass dot marks a pinned mirror. Its angle is fixed for that room, so route the light toward and away from it using the other mirrors.

Is Lumen Relay the original Laser Ricochet?

No. It is an independent, untimed mirror puzzle with original layouts and artwork, inspired by the general reflection mechanic. It does not embed the reference game, copy its code or levels, or include its enemy waves.
